& I’m BACK with a tag this Sunday afternoon! I haven’t done a tag in a bit but I stumbled across this one over at Sara from Freedom Library  and thought why not?!?! it’s hella cute! I’m a HUGE cookie LOVER & this tag is only making me want to go to a pastry shop with my book which would probably work against my diet but YOLO right?!? smh lol. The creator of this tag is Nicole from Sorry, I’m Booked

  • In addition to linking back to the person who tagged you, it would be awesome if you link back to Nicole’s original post!

CHOCOLATE CHIP: A CLASSIC BOOK THAT YOU LOVE OR REALLY ENJOYED (INTERPRET CLASSIC HOW YOU WANT, IT CAN BE A CLASSIC WRITTEN 100 YEARS AGO OR 20 YEARS AGO)

I have 2 that I hold close to my heart: To Kill a Mockingbird & The Iliad, both of which I read in grade school & stirred up my love for classics. I was very young when I was reading most well known classics on my own because YA unfortunately was not yet a thing. One of my goals in 2017 is to re-visit some well known classics with my now adult mind 😉

THIN MINTS: A FANDOM THAT YOU REALLY WANT TO ‘JOIN’ AND/OR A HYPED-UP BOOK YOU WANT TO READ (YOUR SOURCE(S) OF A BOOK BEING HYPED CAN BE FROM ANYWHERE)

Easy! The Falling Kingdoms series, I’ve slowly been purchasing the books in this series (from Bookoutlet) which already has a spin-off. I think what is so appealing about this series besides it being Fantasy is that it’s told in multiple POV’s which is my fave format in books. It’s going to happen soon, I’m going to binge these 😉

SHORTBREAD: AN AUTHOR YOU CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF

Recently my very first New Adult series & now i’m kind of going through withdrawals because besides one other book she currently has out…there’s nothing else to read from her…K.A Tucker my friends!!! I still faithfully check her social media for any nugget of info *crosses fingers* ❤ U GRAY 4 introducing me to my new obsession!

SAMOAS/CARAMEL DELITES: AN EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTER (THIS COOKIE WAS HARD …SO ANY BOOK THAT MADE YOU FEEL MORE THAN ONE EMOTION, STRONGLY. THE CHOICE OF EMOTIONS IS UP TO YOU)

Sara at Freedom Library had an awesome pick for this one cuz More Happy Than Not definitely put me THROUGH it Gals & Ghouls! BUT alas, I’ll give the honors to a more recent read, Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. It was such a ride that I haven’t watched the movie yet, just not ready lol.

OREOS: A BOOK WHOSE COVER WAS BETTER THAN THE STORY OR VICE VERSA, WHERE THE STORY WAS BETTER THAN ITS COVER

Ummm..LOL..I can’t go into this one too much because i’m still experiencing the dissapointment 700 pages later. I have a review for Empire Of Storms here in which I rated this 5th installment a 3.5 stars but since then it’s been bumped to  a 3 possibly even a 2.5…Jussayin…

TAGALONGS/PEANUT BUTTER PATTIES: A BOOK THAT WASN’T WHAT YOU EXPECTED (GOOD, BAD, OR JUST DIFFERENT, INTERPRET HOW YOU WISH)

Illuminae by Jay Kristoff & Amie Kauffman!!! THIS BOOK! Oh Goodness! I was so intimidated by the format of this book which is told in a series of e-mails, memo’s, and chat’s until I finally decided to take the plunge. NO REGRETS! BEST DECISION EVER! 1st book to make me jump off my couch yelling YES! YES! YES! such a good story & I’ve already reserved my copy of Gemina 😉

SNICKERDOODLES: A BOOK YOU MAY NEVER STOP REREADING/LOVING

A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness…Crushed me in it’s beautiful sadness, through magical realism this story weaves a powerful tale that has stayed with me since the 1st day I opened it. I don’t do re-reads nor do I remember many details of books I read a year back cuz I just have terrible memory but not this book. A Monster Calls will be with me till I grow old…

  1. Thanks so much for the tag, I really love cookies as well so this is just the perfect tag for me too! 😀
I really need to read The Iliad, and Me Before You as well, and it’s a shame you didn’t Empire of Storms as well. I feel like I’ve seen a few reviews where people have had issues with it but I actually really enjoyed it, maybe looking back that’ll change.
I LOVE Illuminae, it was so much more than what I expected as well but definitely in a good way. And I think A Monster Calls is going to be a book I will always love no matter how many times I re-read it!
    Great picks! 😀

    1. Thank you Beth! 😊💕after reading your baking post Ink ew I had to tag you in this one 😉 EOS was for me, a big disappointment especially because I read ACOMAF 😔 too many similarities if not outright exact circumstances. Same here for Illuminae, it was a good surprise. A Monster Calls💕will you be watching the movie?

      1. That’s all right, and yay, I’m glad my baking post got me a tag in this one! 😀
I didn’t notice the similarities between EoS and ACOMAF but now everyone has been pointing them out I do see what you mean. Illuminae was amazing, and so was Gemina as well actually! Oh definitely, I’m not sure when it’s released but I can’t wait to go and see it, will you be going? 🙂

  2. Legit laughed out loud when I saw Empire of Storms on there!!! I agree though, the cover is way better than the book lmao. And you’re welcome for introducing you to K.A. Tucker!!!! Sorry that she doesn’t have much else out there. I also feel like I need to join the Falling Kingdoms hype. Maybe we can try to read it together around the same time that way we have each other to talk about it with? It’s definitely on my 2017 TBR. Eek! Thanks for tagging me! xo

    1. Lmao never gonna live down EOS! Smh the Big Let Down of 2016! 🙈 we’re so going to ready The Falling Kingdom series together, 2017 sounds good for me. It’s gonna take me that long to get the 4the book on Bookoutlet cuz every time I go to checkout someone swipes it from me 😂😂😂 & yw 😊💕 meanwhile I’ll keep my fingers cross d for K.A. Tucker lol

  3. Thank you so much for the tag Lilly! So many of these I haven’t read yet 🙈😂. But I love your answer for the classics question! I adore To Kill A Mocking Bird and The Illiad too. They were probably my favorite part of high school English class. Especially The Illiad as I love anything to do with Greek mythology. Also, I’m with you on Me Before You! That book had me sobbing. And don’t even get me started on the movie. I saw that in theaters with my mom and sisters and we all cried. It’s a pretty flawless adaptation. 😊

    1. You’re very welcome Melissa 😊💕& thank you, The Iliad is what got me obsessed with Greek mythology. I haven’t watched the movie adaptation yet for Me Before You cuz I’m just not ready for those feels yet lol…trying to convince my bff to go along with me as well. No sense in crying alone when u can cry with an audience 😉 I’m glad that the movie did the book justice 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

      1. I get what you mean! I wouldn’t have been able to watch it straight after finishing the book either lol. And true, definitely no sense in crying alone when you can do it with an audience. The whole theater walked out wiping their eyes when I saw it. 🙈

  4. It’s so sad that you found EoS disappointing..I myself haven’t read it but I’ve now heard quite a few people say this about EoS, and now it’s making me hesitant to pick it up :/ Yes to Me Before You being an emotional roller-coaster!! And I’ve been meaning to read Ness’ The Monster Calls since AGES, especially now that the movie is coming out. Anyway, great post 🙂

  5. *Cries* I just ate my last piece of pie and now I’m hungry again!! I never heard of K.A Tucker before but it sounds like she needs to go on my TBR :D. (and ‘good’ to see you lowered your rating of EoS even further :’) )

    1. K.A. Tucker is a new adult author, I’m new to this genre but they’re so quick & easy to digest! great palette cleansers. EOS is smh…only regret is how much time it took me to get through it which took away from reading other books…better books lol.

      1. I don’t believe I’ve read a single NA book yet. They just seem so…cheesy? 😀 But I’ve been pulling up my nose at other things and turned out loving them as well ;). Yeah, don’t think about that the other books much! XD

  6. Eeek! Thank you for the tag 🙂

    1) I’m very impressed you read The Iliad in grade school!
    2) I also haven’t watched the film adaptation for Me Before You because I am nervous that it is going to mess up the beauty of the book.
    3) Bahhhh you are killing me with the Illuminae fangirling! I NEED to get to it before the end of the year!
    4) You have made me very interested in A Monster Calls… which is saying a lot since I’ve read a lot of reviews on it and had never felt the need to pick it up.

    1. LOL I’ve always been an avid reader but back then (I’m only 32 lol) I had to take what I could get, there wasn’t a YA genre. The Iliad will always be a favorite, I do want to re-read it soon. There are many others I read in grade school that I just didn’t like or hated like The Catcher In The Rye smh. I feel the same about Me Before You, also it was a n emotional read that stirred up some conflict within myself. It’ll happen though, I’ve heard good things about the movie adaptation. A Monster Calls Amanda!!! please read it, don’t & won’t say anything else about it other than you won’t regret it 😉 that’s another movie I have to steel myself for. The collector’s edition is being released in October & I’m holding out for it since I only have the e-book version.

      1. I read The Catcher in the Rye in High School and I remember enjoying it, but can’t for the life of me remember what it is about. Obviously I am due for a re-read.

Ok, you’ve convinced me 🙂 A Monster Calls is going on my ridiculous TBR.

  7. I truly could NOT get into it, it could also have been because of my English teacher who I wasn’t a fan of either lol. I think the whole book was just ruined for me. Oh YAY for Monster Calls! I don’t recommend books on he regular (other than 2 my husband lol) but you can’t go wrong with this one. Look forward to hearing your thoughts on it 🙂

  8. Sorry I’m late to the party here! And thanks for the tag! I’ll definitely do this one. Super cute. I’m reading ToG now and I’m not thrilled but not horrified either. That’s a shame the new book is so blah. I’m only reading it now because everyone has told me I have to read it to see if I’ll rant or rave. A Monster Calls is so on my radar. Ness in general is on my list. The Iliad is also my favorite. I love that it’s also yours. 🙂 Ever since I read Nevernight, I’ve wanted to read Illuminae. The TBR is so packed though. Now that the next book is coming out I think I need to get cracking on it. I just have so many books I own and ARCs to read. It’s been crazy lately with all the moving stuff. 😂 Thanks again for the tag! 🙂

    1. I really feel for you with Throne Of Glass, it was super hard for me to get through & I didn’t have a reason to motivate me other than it was kilin me not knowing what the hype was about lol. Assassins Blade is WAYYY better, it is the collection of novellas that she released as a pre-cursor to the series. It seriously is worth checking out, if she had maintained that style of writing in this last installment then I suspect my rating would’ve been different. A ghost writer I met at the Leigh Bardugo event made a good point about Sarah J. Maas, this series began on Wattpad as a series of stories when the author was much younger. The world is now massive & it almost feels like it’s slipping away from her, clear indicator of that is Hulu now having rights to create a show based off the books. Her new series A Court of Thorns & Roses displays a higher level of maturity in her writing which is prob why it should be labeled NA & not YA. A Monster Calls & Illuminae were AMAZING! The Iliad <3! I'm scared to look at my own TBR so totally understand you there. Moving is never fun so I wish you a quick & easy settling down in your new home, go forth & make it your own! 😉

      1. Everyone says the novellas are way better. I’ll have to check them out. I didn’t even know Wattpad existed when she was younger. Lol. I had no idea, but that also seems to be how other writers are getting their stories published. Maybe I’ll do that with one of mine. 🙂

    1. Thank you Marie! The formatting was off putting until I actually opened the first page. I kid you not, in one night I read 150 pgs & had to stop myself. It was Midnight & I never meant to read it, I was just skimming my shelves to decided on any next read (mood reader here). It’s ADDICTIVE! 😂😂😂 don’t be put off any longer, take the plunge & you won’t regret it 😉
