Black Friday Bookoutlet Haul


Happy Sunday Bookworms! I am currently trying to squeeze in some ME time at home. I don’t usually post on Sunday’s but I missed the blogosphere on the weekends where I get to see another wave of bloggers not usually on during the week. I also promised to post my Black Friday Book Haul to a few book blogging buddies on Twitter & so here I am <3’s! Before Black Friday, it had been 1 whole year since I last purchased anything on Bookoutlet (I checked my past orders lol) & so I thought it wise to take advantage of this yearly sale. I completely had forgotten about the anxiety that comes with actually completing a purchase during this sale…

Yea…I set the alarm for this sale & had my cart full with titles I “had to have” haha! & I was almost successful. Unfortunately as is to be expected, the world of Bookworms were all trying to get in on the deals & the site experienced several gateway errors. My first order looked as if it had gone through and my Credit Card showed a charge pending however their site knocked my order off as if it never existed. So, I quickly placed another order with the exception of Tiny Pretty Things by Sona Charaipotra & Dhonielle Clayton which is book one in a duology. I had this book checked out from the library & read about 45% too little too late & had to return it lol. This book seems to not want to get read by me smh, but in true bookworm fashion I still went through with getting the sequel lol! anyways, on to the book haul…

Confession…I am a bookworm addicted to books. I have 3 sequels listed here that I can’t read just yet lol, but I do own the first book in each series & plan on getting to them early 2018 so there’s me rationalizing…

So my paperback haul is about 90% recommendations from either Blogging buddies or Booktubers I LOVE to the moon & back haha! I’ll start with Darque Dreamer Reads who reviewed Jackaby & left me smiling & thinking I really NEED to meet this Jackaby character. The Hating Game is highly recommended by Chelsea over at ChelseaDolling Reads who I friggin LOVE! so it was a MUST BUY (she also influenced my Young Jane Young purchase lol). We are the Ants & Random Family have been on my TBR for way too long & I couldn’t believe Random Family was only $.75 cents *gasp*

    1. Baha! I think you just may have gotten the copy of Tiny Pretty Things I missed out on lol. We are the Ants is the book I threw in the cart once I saw Tiny Pretty Things was sold out 🙂

    1. I understand how that goes all too well, I had planned for this sale a mth in advance. Set about $50 aside and spent $42 so just under budget 😂 I think even hubby was surprised by that smh. I will def let you know about Dark Days which seems right up my alley so 🤞🏼

    1. Funny thing, I actually won a Twitter giveway for a box full of books & they threw in The Dark Days paperback with the new cover…wasn’t a fan lol. So I ordered the hardcover cause *heart eyes emoji* haha! I can’t wait to read this one, it def looks like my type of book 🙂

  10. What a fantastic haul! So, if I understood right, you didn’t read the Tiny Pretty Things series just yet, but bought the sequel? 😛 I get it though, these covers are soo pretty and that series sound so good, I so want to read it 🙂

    1. Thanks Marie! lol, I actually read 45% of Tiny pretty Things in audiobook format from Overdrive. I started the loan a bit late though so it expired before I could finish smh, the 45% was really entertaining so that sucked haha! now I have the physical books to finish reading 🙂

      4. Thought I had answered this 🤔 lol, yes I aim to review everything I read. No matter if it’s a week or a month after I’ve finished the book. A lot of the reason for this is because they’re review copies & I feel yucky not holding up my end of the deal when I request or receive a arc. Hate it it love it, review goes up 😉

  11. Nice haul! Want was a pretty interesting read with fantastic world building! I hope you enjoy it! I haven’t read Crown Of Wishes yet but I’m planning to buy it soon. The Dark Days Club is a good read but its slow pacing bored me to death. Windwitch is another book in my tbr that I really want to read but haven’t gotten around to it yet. OMG, I loved The Hating Game! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! 🙂

    1. Thank you Raven! I’m really looking forward to reading Want soon, LOVING the ppush for diversity in all YA sub-genres. I’m hoping to enjoy Dark Days Club but we’ll see, I do tend to find the smaller reads to be some of my faves lol. I have to read Trutwitch asap! lol, I have aplan of attack for my back list in 2018 😉 I keep hearing EVERYONE loved The Hating Game, feeling like the only gal on the planet who hasn’t read it yet *for shame* I might just squeeze it in my December TBR if I can finish the books I have planned first *fingers crossed* ❤

  12. Aweeee I’m sorry that your first cart disappeared! I’ve had books disappear out of my cart while shopping on there, because others bought them before me..and it SUCKED. So I can’t image losing a whole cart like that. Glad that you only missed out on ONE book though! You made some good purchases I would say 😉 hope you enjoyyyy

    1. Thank you Ashley! Me too! I might break & read The Hating Game soon cuz I legit keep coming across other readers who LOVED this book. I need something light & cute for the holiday so maybe Christmas week I squeeze it in *fingers crossed* haha! & yes read them! ❤

  14. That’s a good haul! Hopefully they’ll all be excellent reads!
    It’s interesting to me how much even the spine of a book can stand out to you. The spine for WANT is super eye-catching, I thought. As is We are the ants. I’ll be looking forward to your thoughts on those two especially!

    1. Thank you! I agree, there goes my book vanity showing haha! Those 2 titles are actually of most interest to myself as well. The front cover of Want is just as stunning in its diversity. Hope to get to them soon & will def post a review 🙂
