I’m currently about 150 pages away from finishing Illuminae (almost 600pgs) & I’ve noticed that I’ve picked up a new habit in 2016. Just like with ACOMAF, I am enjoying the ride that is Illuminae SO much!…that I’m reading in bursts & then allowing myself to get distracted smh lol. Besides the fact that the format (e-mails, chats, & Briefs) makes this story feel fast paced & easy to digest, I find myself clinging to hope for the survival of some of these characters and I’m genuinely getting attached. I think what I’m enjoying the most is the dialogue btwn Kady & Ezra/Kady & Zhang. You get a sense of timelessness while they’re up in space, humor keeps them sane while they tinker away to improve their rates of survival. All in all, I’m really looking forward to continuing this story & going through the inevitable pre-order of Gemina that I’m sure will take place tonight 😉
*Oh & the review will follow. Anyone else excited about Brad Pitt/Warner Brothers producing the movie for Illuminae? I haven’t heard anything since it was first announced last Fall but think it would make for a great book to movie adaptation 📽💕

    1. Lmao!!! I want a pic of that leopard bag! 😂😂😂 I think BP will do the book justice. Ugh Gretchen…my heart cannot sustain all that’s going on right now on pages 400 & beyond😱😭😱 I’m ordering my copy tonight 😁😁😁

  3. I need to read Illuminae! Everyone is prasing it and talking about their excitment for the sequel so I’m getting curious haha. I’ve picked it up a few times when I’ve seen it at the bookstore and was a bit thrown off by the setup, but what I’ve seen about it has me intirguied.

    1. Same here!! Also was intimidated by the format, it looked at bit complex but ITS FAR FROM IT! lol. I’ve had this book sitting in my shelves since December! *gasp* it is now one of my top faves of 2016. I don’t even know where to start my review, I’m gonna go sleep on it because right now it’s 12am & I can’t stop gushing about it to the walls & my blogger friends 😂😂😂

    1. I’m 30 pages away from finishing it & I CANNOT! I don’t want it to end! Instead I’ve taken to procrastinating…watching a couple episodes of Supernatural before I finish Illuminae lol 😩😭😩

  5. I love it when you get sucked into books like you are with Illuminae! This is why we read! 😊 I should definitely go pick Illuminae up before it enters theatres!! The only other series I’ve read that is in this format is the ttyl/Internet Girls series by Lauren Myracle and I really liked it, so I really hope I like it!!

    1. Omg!!! It’s 12am (I need to be up in 5 hours) & I just finished Illuminae!!! Gahhhh!!!!😱😱😱 Ed why we read lol. I hope you do get to it soon, it’s been on my shelves since December smh. I’ve never heard of the Internet Girls series, will have to check it out😊💕
