Bad Romance instantly caught my attention with its decaying flowers on the cover and it’s Gaga-esque title. My guess was right, this story is about abusive relationships. Although in the Goodreads synopsis we are made aware of the main protagonists abusive relationship with her love interest, it is the step-father/daughter relationship that made me add this one to my TBR. The description “wields fear like a weapon” sticks out the most. I’m hoping for some in depth character development/exploration, a realistic account of toxic relationships & its after effects and lastly i’m interested in the outcome. Of course i’m hoping for a positive outcome but i’m curious as to how it will be handled by the author.

I really want to read this book too! And not just because its title reminds me of that Lady Gaga song (I love that song). 😀 Heather Demetrios is such a great writer! I adore her Dark Caravan books. This one is very different but I have no doubt that it will be awesome. I hope you enjoy this book when you get a chance to read it!

LOL I’ve never read anything by this author, Dark Caravan sounds like Fantasy? I don’t read many contemps, but when I do they are usually darker themes like this one. Thank you for stopping by 🙂

That cover…I couldn’t think of a good enough word for it but I think Effective is the best description for it. Sounds an interesting plot too. You’re always bringing good books to my attention 🙂

Great pick for this week Lilly. Bad Romance sounds like an amazing book (I’ve definitely got that Lady Gaga song stuck in my head as well now) and I am in love with that cover too. I’ll definitely be adding this one to my to-read list. 😀

I started doing this with This Savage Song which I listened to Dark Violin (instrumentals) & it totally set the vibe for that book lol. I’m currently listening to Russian folk songs while reading The Bear and The Nightingale lol, love it! Smh

I don’t think I could do different playlists for different books, I read too many for there to be enough space on my iPod for all of them. I may do different playlists for different authors, and maybe some playlists for eagerly anticipated books as well. 😀

I loved her book I’ll Meet You There so much. This one definitely seems on a whole different spectrum from that book, however. I can’t wait to see how the author handles it as well. This is definitely going straight on my TBR for this year. Also, now I can’t stop singing Bad Romance. I actually didn’t think about it until you mentioned Lady Gaga 😂. Great pick, Lilly! 💕
