September’s Owlcrate Unboxing

It’s that time again!!! My September Owlcrate box arrived & the theme this month is DARKNESS! I am VERY happy with the curating of Owlcrate’s boxes but this one takes the cake! They’ve outdone themselves with an EPIC box. Three Dark Crowns is one my most highly anticipated books for fall 2016 so pardon me while I *SquEeee*🤗🤗🤗 lol.

Favorite item in the box has to be the Miss Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children canvas pouch & the Raven Cycle series inspired fortune telling bath fizzers from Da Bomb Bath Fizzers. Also in this box is a bookmark Inspired by Leigh Bardugo’s Six Of Crows from Evie Seo aka Eviebookish (my next read 😉), a Throne of Glass inspired candle by The Melting Library in the exclusive scent Celeana’s Cake (smells like cotton candy YUM!) & the first episode in a 15 episode YA sci-fi series titled ReMade. For those of you who have an account with NetGalley, they currently have some of the next few episodes in this 15 episode series available as “Read Now”.

I feel like these past few boxes, Owlcrate has been raising the bar for themselves. This has to be my favorite box this year (so far). I’m already using the canvass pouch as my makeup bag & Im reading Six Of Crows so the bookmark came at the perfect time. Now, to find the time to enjoy the bath bomb, is my next mission in life! #goals 😂

Did anyone else LOVE this month’s Owlcrate? Also, I have this thing where I have to guess the next month’s box & so far I’ve been right the past 3 boxes lol. I must say that I have NO clue what October’s pick could possibly be. Open to some guesses though, leave them right down below lol.

  1. I got mine this week as well! 🙂 But I don’t know what to do with the magic bath bomb because we don’t have a bathtub ;). It’s actually the first time in which I know like 99% what will be in October’s box! Because I don’t want to spoil it for any other people, if you wanna see which title it is, you can check it out on Goodreads HERE. I’ll put myself on a book buying ban for a month if I’m wrong about it :’).

    1. Anne!!!! *runs wildly arms flailing* no way!!!! I’ve been lusting after that book for mths but was going by the logic that OC sends books that are released within the same mth, typically the week before it ships. I never even thought to look at this once since it was released today but it MAKES ALL THE SENSE!!!! Smh 🤗🤗🤗 so happy! Now I can take it out of my cart 😂😂😂 they’re prob doing things a bit differently ever since the whole issue with Uppercase sending the same exact book as them these past 3 mths. I’m seriously cheesin like a dork in my cubicle smh.

      1. Hahaha XD. They always send little clues in an email about next month’s book and with Russian folklore being one of the hints here, this HAS to be it! 😀 I didn’t know about the Uppercase drama (you can definitely call that a drama ;). ‘Luckily’ for me, UC doesn’t ship to my country! (more boxes, mo’ money!). Lol! 😀

      2. Lmao! Facts! I switched over from UC to OC after receiving way too many fluffy contemporaries. Every one in a while I go for one but not 3 months in a row so they had to go 😌 can’t wait for the October box now 😃

  2. Wow this looks like an amazing box for this month! I used to be subscribed to Owl Crate, then I went with a UK subscription box because it was a little cheaper and arrived at my house a little quicker! Still I love seeing the pictures of what is in each months box. I hope you enjoy Three Dark Crowns, it’s one of my most anticipated reads as well, also all those bookish gifts look amazing! I’m glad you enjoyed the box this month! 😀

    1. Fairyloot *swoon* I’m going to have to get that box at least once lol but I live in the U.S. & those shipping fees are brutal. I hope that is Vassa, I was actually going to purchase Vassa today but I’ll wait now 😃

      1. My September box arrived today, but I still have to wait until I get home to open it. But yeah it was the same for me living in the U.K. and getting the Owl Crate box.
I could be completely wrong but reading what Owl Crate have said about the book Vaasa is the only one I can think of that fits. 🙂

      2. Oh that’s AWESOME!!! I love book mail 😆 it’s def Vassa, is so used to them only sending books released a week before they ship that I wasn’t looking at September new releases. I’m excited for Vassa since I came close to purchasing it yesterday. Someone suggested that it may be Vassa & it fits the theme so I was thankful for that persons guess @the right time lol.

      3. Same here, and given that I’m on a book buying ban my subscription boxes are the only book mail I’ll be getting for a while.
Honestly I didn’t even realise Vassa was already out! Not until I saw it was in the Fairy Loot box this month, I just saw the description and it’s what came to mind! Yeah good job you didn’t purchase it, I’m the same I love guessing the books and then seeing if I’m right, it’s part of the fun isn’t it? 😀

  3. I ordered my first Fairyloot which will arrive hopefully soon! I used to get Owlcrate but got fed up with some lacklustre boxes. This however is an amazing edition! The book, bath bomb and candle! Perfect! Enjoy!! 🙂

    1. I think they stepped it up this month for sure, hope they continue sending this level of quality in their boxes *crosses fingers* would luv to try out Fairyloot but at the moment it’s a bit pricey for me in the U.S. 😦

      1. I bought Fairyloot as a treat for myself. I’m glad that they offer one-time purchases. I definitely wouldn’t be able to afford it all the time.

  4. This month’s Owlcrate was my first one and I adored it! I’m never able to splurge on subscription boxes because money, but I figured this month’s and October’s would be the perfect birthday present to myself 😂. Also, when I heard about the Miss Peregrine’s item I had to have it. I definitely predicted the book ahead of time though, but for next month I’m going to not let myself be curious and let it be a surprise lol.

    1. Melissa! I found you in my spam folder & marked you as “not spam” smh, oh WordPress! *shakes fist in the air* This month’s box was perfection & I admire you my friend for not wanting to know lol. I just can’t, my curiosity gets the best of me each & every time. I now have a good idea of what October is cuz of the suggestions I’ve been tweeted & I’M SO EXCITED!!!! lo, I think my fun comes from guessing smh *covers eyes*

      1. Ugh yes the notorious spam jail. I got contacted back by Akismet this morning so I’m hoping what they had me do fixes it.
It really was! Lol a small part of me wants to know but at the same time I want it to be a surprise. It’s not even October yet though so we’ll see if I end up giving into the temptation to spoil it for myself between now and then 😂. It can be easy to guess though because only so many YA books concerning each theme that are released each month. 🙈
Either way I’m really excited too! 😃

      2. I think I accidentally spoiled myself already 😂. I wasn’t even looking for what book it might be but someone was talking about it on Instagram and the more I think about the more I think they are right. If it is the book they were talking about though I’ll be excited either way because it’s one I want to read. 😊

  5. We already chatted about the box on Instagram, but I loved this box! I totally agree! Yeah, my fav item was the pouch, too. It’s so cute and perfect to stuff all my bookmarks and bookish items into. Unfortunately, I’m highly allergic to artificial scents, so I had to throw out the candle and the bath bomb after I took my pics for Instagram. 😂 I wish I wasn’t allergic because they both smelled so good. But I couldn’t stop sneezing. Love your pic! Super cute. 🙂 And I’m so psyched for next month’s box! Yes, bring it on! 🙌

    1. Jill! I found you in my spam folder with Melissa from Booknerdmomo! WordPress is being really crummy lately *shakes fist in the air* Thank you, I’m now really looking forward to October’s box & so glad Anne guessed cuz I really was at the Amazon Checkout with that very same book lol. The candle smells good but in doses cuz it can get overpowering so I’m thankful that it’s not full sized. I think there’s an exchange site for items you don’t wan’t but perhaps someone else does & may have something from their box to trade you…I think that’s a thing lol. Too much work for me though LOL! I’m gonna be honest…that pouch has gone from makeup back 2 carrying other lady essentials & I think the scary theme is befitting for that time of the mth *shrugs shoulders*

      1. Oh, no! I thought I was out of the spam dungeons. 😂 Anne is a lifesaver. You would’ve been so bummed if you had two copies. I have duplicates of way too many books. I doubt I’d want to bother with exchange sites. Lol I’m right there with ya! That’s a good storage bag for lady items. 😉

  6. What an incredible box! I always DREAM of getting an Owlcrate, but shipping costs are way too expensive for me, sadly. I’m glad to live through you and see what you got with this box! I feel like they’re improving their content every month, from what I see. I hope you will enjoy the book, I heard mixed reviews about it so far, but it sounds like an entertaining read 🙂
