I’m currently about 150 pages away from finishing Illuminae (almost 600pgs) & I’ve noticed that I’ve picked up a new habit in 2016. Just like with ACOMAF, I am enjoying the ride that is Illuminae SO much!…that I’m reading in bursts & then allowing myself to get distracted smh lol. Besides the fact that the format (e-mails, chats, & Briefs) makes this story feel fast paced & easy to digest, I find myself clinging to hope for the survival of some of these characters and I’m genuinely getting attached. I think what I’m enjoying the most is the dialogue btwn Kady & Ezra/Kady & Zhang. You get a sense of timelessness while they’re up in space, humor keeps them sane while they tinker away to improve their rates of survival. All in all, I’m really looking forward to continuing this story & going through the inevitable pre-order of Gemina that I’m sure will take place tonight đŸ˜‰
*Oh & the review will follow. Anyone else excited about Brad Pitt/Warner Brothers producing the movie for Illuminae? I haven’t heard anything since it was first announced last Fall but think it would make for a great book to movie adaptation đŸ“½đŸ’•
